The Origins
In the 1976, 47 years ago, a group of expert engineers, working in the petrolchimical industry in Sardinia island found themselvel facing a choiche.
They were assemblers, welders, carpenters, crane operators and drivers.
Their average age was forty, so they were experienced and had extensive knowlodge of their field. The company employng them was undergoing a crisis. They could have separated, scettered their skills, each individual seeking new work. Instead, they chose to try their luck sticking toghether: after all, they were a well-blended group. A team thet was worth more than the sum of its parts. So they formed a cooperative venture and offered their services to the contractors of drefineries and chemical industries.
And this was the birth of Cemis, an acronym for Industrial Construction & Assembly Sarroch.
Over the subsequent four decades Cemis expanded its market presence and the scope of this operations. It grew as to workforce, know-how, technical equipment and operational capacity.
Today it is a consortium employng more than 160 people, equipped with its own workshops, machinery and vehicles. It still works primarily in the large industrial parks of Sardinia island, buti t also takes jobs overseases, at time working with some of the world’s leading companies in the field of industrial plant and tecnology.
